The Story

The Lifeline of the Dry Season

While the Serengeti is famous for the wet-season migration, Tarangire is the undisputed king of the dry season (June to October). As the surrounding plains dry up, the Tarangire River becomes the only source of water for miles.

This draws an astonishing concentration of wildlife. You will see herds of up to 300 elephants digging dry riverbeds for water, surrounded by the surreal, twisted silhouettes of massive baobab trees. It is a photographer's dream and a stark, beautiful reminder of nature's resilience.
